When I was studying for my PhD, I took something called “the theory qualifier,” which I can now definitively say was the second worst thing in my life after chemotherapy. When I complained to my mother about how hard and awful the test was, she leaned over, patted me on the arm and said, “We know just how you feel, honey. And remember, when your father was your age, he was fighting the Germans."

What do we complain about and when? A short retrospection and realized that we complain about everything and anything under the sun. And we complain always. ALWAYS.
We complain about the bad traffic while commuting to office and coming back to home. There are people who travel 15-20 kms daily by bicycle to earn their bread. There are children in rural areas who walk 5-10 kms morning and evening so that they can earn their right to education which can make a difference to their entire generation.
We complain about not getting enough salary but fritter away our hard-earned money at time pass activities. There are people who earn less than 5000, run a family, educate their children and still don't have any complaints about life.
We complain about our parents that they have not done enough for us even though they have put their heart and soul to have us educated.
We complain about the other person getting all the recognition while we do nothing from our side to earn our deserved compliments.
We complain about those 15 minutes of internet disconnection during which we really feel very much handicapped. There are villages where electricity has not penetrated till date.
We complain about our television channels not providing interesting programmes after wastefully changing the channels for 2 hours.
We complain about the obscenity displayed in our movies and television shows but we still don't feel bad about watching the same with our children.
There are a lot more that can be added to this list. But I leave it to yourself to retrospect your list and see if it is worth clinging on to those.
We always have the habit of looking at what is on the other person's plate and forget to enjoy eating whatever is on our plate.
Why don't we enjoy each and every moment of our life as it comes? And cherish those enjoyable moments.
